Avril Lavigne’s new diamond ring is the one to beat.
On Thursday, the 29-year-old Sk8er Boi singer tweeted a cute selfie of her and her 39-year-old husband Chad Kroeger all cuddled up, but all eyes were on the insanely huge diamond ring he bought her to celebrate their first anniversary.
Avril wrote: “I still can’t believe my one year anniversary gift. 17-carat emerald cut. Wow. I love my hubby.”
Seventeen carats! Now, it’s impossible to know where the ring ranks on the clarity, cut and color scales, so any guess at the price of the ring would just be speculation. Let’s just say, it doesn’t look affordable or budget-friendly.
Seriously, the thing looks like costume jewelry from a store that sells fake rings. If Avril is ever lost on a deserted island, she could signal a plane with that thing.
It’s so big, it can’t even stay straight on her finger. That ring is so huge, it attracts other smaller rings into orbit around it.
Congrats on the anniversary, Avril and Chad! Be careful if you go swimming with that thing on, because it could weigh you down.
